Hello, everyone!!!
My goodness, it’s been a while! The past several months have been… different. We don’t know about you, but we’re ready for some live music again!
To that effect, we’ve resumed booking, with gigs beginning this week (check the ‘Shows‘ page for details). We’ve got a handful of shows on the books for September, and we may slowly ramp things up over the next couple months, including hopefully scheduling a version of our annual holiday tour. We’ve missed playing, and we’ve missed all our favorite cities, and we’ve missed all your beautiful faces, and we’re excited!
But of course, this isn’t quite the same world it was when we stopped playing back in March. With that in mind, we here at Currys Music LLC would like to share with you our plans for social distancing:
First off, we intend to be fairly strict about physical distancing. We have several family members and friends who fall into an “at risk” category for COVID susceptibility, and we intend to minimize the risk we introduce into their lives. With that in mind, we ask that all audience members refrain from hugs and handshakes and maintain a minimum distance of six feet at all times. When we’re off stage, we plan to wear masks, and we encourage audience members to do the same. Masks may be required depending on the policies of the state and venue hosting the performance at the time of the show.
Secondly–but no less importantly–we must consider the health of our audience. Regular touring may once again bring us into contact with large numbers of people. It increases the risk of us picking up the virus at one show and unwittingly taking it with us to the next show. We feel we have an obligation to our audiences to minimize that risk by responsibly distancing ourselves at each and every performance.
For those of you questioning the prudence of our return to travel and performing: For us, this decision is not just about getting back to doing what we love to do; it’s also, critically, a question of making ends meet. We promise to behave responsibly and considerately. If you are uncomfortable with the notion of attending public events, we encourage you to prioritize your well-being and that of your loved ones.
These are truly strange times, and we’re all just trying to look out for each other as best we can. Stay safe, stay sane, and maybe we’ll see you on the road!
