In the winter of 2007, Tommy tracked his first ever studio recordings at From the Heart Recording Studio in Sopchoppy, Florida, with Rick Ott and Nelle McCall. It was the beginning of great friendship, and over the next nine years, Tommy and (subsequently) The Currys worked with Rick and Nelle time and again, performing at From the Heart concerts and festivals, recording their debut EP at the studio, and even touring the west coast of Ireland with Rick, Nelle, and our dear friend Mimi Hearn.

Now, Rick and Nelle have decided, for many reasons, to end their in-studio concert series. While they will remain active in live and recorded music production, the cessation of From the Heart’s live in-studio shows is a source of sadness to all those panhandle artists who knew and loved the intimate music community Rick and Nelle established in Sopchoppy. In honor of all of their great work in support of Florida music, The Currys are doing an impromptu final show at From the Heart Studio on December 11 at 4pm. The structure will be lose, the guests will be many, and we’ll send them out with a bang. Come help us say “Thanks!” to these two great people!
